The shoe at a glance.
The Xodus Ultra 4 suits long trail outings where responsive cushioning and a steady rolling ride matter more than quick technical footwork. PWRRUN PB foam and full-coverage Vibram Megagrip traction give it clear strengths for sustained progress across mixed trails. Its substantial build and lack of a rock plate are compromises on fast descents or sharp, rocky ground. The secure upper tapers toward the toes and sizing impressions vary, so allow room for swelling and test the fit with your trail socks before a long adventure.

Cushioning and ride
Published testing found strong traction on easier terrain and a bouncy ride. Long-distance cushioning does not remove the need to check toe room and heel comfort.
Our editorial ride category: balanced.
Fit and sizing
A secure regular fit with a toe box that narrows toward the front. Sizing impressions vary; check toe clearance with your trail socks.

Before you choose
The substantial build and tapered toe area can be limiting on fast, steep descents or when your feet swell over long distances.
