Make the fit yours

Measure, check the size chart, and take a useful checklist to your try-on.

Measure both feet

Wear your running socks and measure later in the day. Standing on paper, mark your heel and longest toe, then measure the distance. Measure both feet and use the longer measurement when consulting the brand’s chart.

Check the exact range

Use the chart for the brand and men’s, women’s, or unisex range you are buying. Foot length is not always the same as the centimeter size printed on a shoe. A familiar size is a starting point, not a fit guarantee.

Try both shoes

Look for space ahead of your longest toe and a secure midfoot and heel without squeezing. Walk or jog briefly if the store allows it. Check the retailer’s return conditions before taking shoes outdoors.

Take a question to the try-on

  1. Save your shortlist and record the size range and width you want to try. Use the chart for the exact brand and range.
  2. Run through the checklist below in both shoes. Record what feels comfortable and what needs a different size, width or model.
  3. Keep the return conditions with your notes before using a pair outdoors. Buying preferences here do not reserve retailer stock.

A practical example. A shopper comparing two models can note “heel holds well” beside one and “pressure at midfoot” beside the other. Those personal observations are more useful for the next try-on than assuming the same size label guarantees the same fit.
